WINESDAY: Tawse Chardonnay 2013
This week, my heart goes to Niagara. Such a great Canadian wine region. Recognized worldwide for its Ice Wines and more and more for the quality of the still wines they produce. Tawse Winery got a Gold Medal for their Pinot Noir in 2013 and recieved Winery of the Year again in 2016, for the fourth time.
This wine is elegant with peach and toasted bread notes on a round finish that expresses the minerality of its specific terroir on the Niagara Escarpment, also called The Bench.
Tawse’s organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking adds purity and great fruit expression to the wines. A must visit if you are in the area.
